A Month that Seemed to Fly By

I ran around the field trying to stay warm, I hurried home, I rushed to catch the train, I hopped into the car, I made breakfast before heading out again, I waited hoping for the first glimpse of Kristi, I sat, I read, I studied, I ate, I worshiped, I talked and discussed, I ran, I walked, I slept...

So what's been going on with me this last month?  Well, it's been pretty crazy but good.  I finally have a chance to sit down and write out a few things that have happened.  The main event of the month was Kristi coming home on the 11th!  The ten days before she arrived we were preparing and doing school.  On the eleventh Tiffy, Jenny, and I hopped on the train to do the President's Physical Fitness Challenge with some friends.  We did pushups, situps, stretching, and running.  In the afternoon we got to play some Ultimate Frisbee.  Around three thirty we hopped on the train again to go home, got a ride from Dad from our train station, and arrived at the house around five in the evening.  We had about ten minutes to clean up slightly before jumping in the car to go to the airport.  Standing and sitting in the airport we waited eagerly for Kristi to come through the glass doors.
"There she is!" someone exclaimed.  We watched her pass by on the other side of the doors to get her baggage.  A few minutes later we were all hugs as we greeted Kristi in person for the first time in a year and a half!  It's so good to have her home!
Now she's been here more than two weeks and life is beginning to get settled again.  We've had lots of good talks and discussions which are way more fun in person than over Skype.  We've played games, gone on trips, worshiped and prayed, and tried to fit in some school during the last three weeks.

So here's a quick run down of a few things we did this month: we had two birthdays, Mother's Day, trip to Universal Studio, outdoor painting afternoon, a special Just-Tiffy-And-Me lunch, bowling, school, gardening, miniature golf, work, worship times, talking, talking, and more talking.  Yeah, so maybe it's been just a little bit busy for the last few weeks! =)

Our outdoor painting day!  It was my first time to paint on location, pretty fun!  There are definitely factors that you don't think about when painting inside that you have to deal with when outside.  Things like sun, wind, change in lighting, and bugs climbing on your painting... It was fun to try!  I got pretty sunburn after painting for few hours!

Lunch out with Tiffy!  We had fun together!  We both ate a large slice of watermelon with lunch!  It was kind of funny to watch the Japanese people stare at us as they walked by.  I can imagine they thought it was pretty unusual to see two foreign girls eating huge pieces of watermelon!

Universal Studios Japan!  We went on the roller-coaster, Hollywood Dream, in the front row!  So fun!  We enjoyed our girls-day-out immensely!

This month has been filled with lots of fun things along with lots of work.  It's been a great and busy few weeks!  I can hardly believe that it is almost June!!!  =)

Throughout the month God's been working as always.  He's been talking to me about my identity.  I want to become really secure in who I am in Him.  So often I pick up what other people think as part of my identity, but God wants me to depend on who He says I am no matter what other people do or say.  We are pressing in for deeper levels of God.  I believe we're in a new season of breakthrough as God highlights areas we need change and as we continue to seek Him more.  He wants to teach me to be able to rest and simply be with Him, not always having to DO something, but learn to BE.

It's exciting as we continue to worship and find that place in His presence.  Pray that God's perfect will be done during this time that Kristi is here, that this summer would a time of breakthrough, building deeper relationships, and binding together in love more and more.  Our God is awesome!  We want to see more of His awesomeness in the next few months!
