We've been climbing to new heights this last month. Literally climbing to new heights. Dad and Kristi have been all over our roof scrubbing, cleaning, and preparing to re-paint it. We set up the first bit of scaffolding on June 27th. Now we've completed scaffolding all along the back of the house in order to support the tarp to protect the neighbors property. Today Dad and Kristi finished washing the roof and started to put on the first coat of sealer paint. (Good job guys!)
Scaffolding
We have ropes thrown over the house so that Kristi and Dad can be connected onto something while they climb around on the roof. There are two ladders on it to give something to step on, and we have another ladder on the top porch so that they can get onto the roof.
The roof is pretty steep. Probably a 45 degree
angle.
View from the third story porch
It's pretty high. With three stories, the peek of the
roof is probably eight or nine meters (25-30 feet) off the ground.
Last week Kristi cleaned most of one side of the roof with the
power-washer. Here are some pictures of her on top of the roof.
You can pray that we can finish this project quickly, safely, and skillfully. We need God's wisdom to know the best way to finish resealing our roof. It's a big job, but God has given some good ideas and kept us all safe. So far it has gone really well! Thanks for your prayers! We appreciate it!
That does look scary! I like the picture of Kristi silhouetted on top of the roof. =D
