New Covering

Here's a quick update on our roof project.  Two days ago on Thursday, Dad and Kristi finished painting the main part of the roof!!  Now there is just touch-up work and clean up.  We may or may not try to clean the walls of the house before completely packing up the materials.  The roof project is almost complete!  We have a new covering over our house!

Good job Dad and Kristi!  You have worked so hard!

Dad on the roof, Thursday morning

The first half of the roof took several weeks to reseal and paint.  Part of the problem was that Kristi and Dad were having to figure out their painting system as they went.  They also put on a whole extra coat of paint and Dad tried to do that side by himself.  For the second half of the roof they put on sealer and the paint in two or three days!  They had a system worked out where both of them could work and they knew how to do it.

Notice the difference between the painted and unpainted parts of the roof.

Can you see them up there?

It is so cool to have our roof painted!  But even more cool is the fact that we did it ourselves!  God provided for our roof!  He granted wisdom, kept us safe, and brought Kristi home for the summer to help.  Her experience working with ropes and heights when working at camps the last two summers has definitely been invaluable.  Without her I don't think Dad would have been able to repaint the roof.

It'll look nice when we get all the ropes off! =)

Thanks for your prayers!  We appreciate it!  We hope to completely finish this project soon!
